Our 5-axis machine provides the customer with the high quality and cost-effectiveness of service that we at Ryan Plastics are constantly striving to maintain and improve upon. Not every plastics manufacturer is able to meet the stringent accuracy and speed requirements of the more demanding machining tasks. Many industries today, especially in the world of hi-tech design, are turning to 5-Axis machining because it provides increased speed of manufacturing and repetitive accuracy. To further enhance the ‘order to manufacture’ time we have installed two CAD/CAM seats.

With 5-axis machines there is a reduction in setup time and often reduced fixture and tooling costs. Machine time is reduced and product quality is usually better because work-pieces do not have to be moved from machine to machine for multiple operations. While complex contours often demand the 5-axis machine, the ability to reorient the tool in mid-cycle, to allow milling, drilling and tapping at numerous compound curves with only one setup, makes the 5 axis machining extremely viable in any workshop. For decades, 5-axis machines have been synonymous with parts that have continuously flowing compound curves and angles, requiring the simultaneous movement of five machine axes. That mindset is understandable, since the biggest users of 5-axis machines have been in aerospace and related industries.
